How Communities Work Together: COVID-19

Hands-Holding-Heart-Community.jpg

The COVID-19 outbreak has thrown the entire country into turmoil, with concerns about income, the stock market, how to keep a small business afloat, and above all, ensuring our families and friends stay safe and healthy.

New ways of doing business are quickly being established. Most businesses that fall outside the state’s list of essential services have employees who are working from home and meeting virtually, and these meetings are often focused on brainstorming how to survive a dwindling cash flow.

How Can We Help?

We rely on small businesses in our community to provide a wide array of services. Hairdressers, nail salons, retail outlets, transportation companies, and other small businesses are struggling to survive. We don’t want to see our trusted local retailers or service providers suffering such extreme financial damage that they close forever. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our community and deserve help.

While many government programs are being established, not all businesses qualify, and it takes time for the needed funds to be approved and delivered. In the meantime, you can assist your local businesses by ordering from them by phone or online, buying gift cards, or scheduling future services. When there is a “light at the end of the tunnel,” with appointments scheduled in the upcoming months, it can provide the confidence that businesses need to weather the storm.

Insurance & COVID-19

The pandemic impacting our local community and the rest of the world has raised many questions about health insurance, life insurance, business interruption insurance, and a range of other insurance-related concerns. Our local agents are available to speak with you by phone or in a virtual consultation. Hopefully, within weeks we will be able to shift back to safe person-to-person meetings. Until then, we are committed to providing you with the assistance you need in any way we can.

Essential Services

During this time, many companies, large and small, fall into the category of essential services. We count on these businesses to continue to provide us with what we need. As community members, we can help them by ensuring we engage in social distancing to help keep workers safe and healthy.

Our Healthcare Workers

No sector of our community is under more stress than our doctors, nurses, and all personnel serving the healthcare industry. Doctors and dentists must continue to perform services – not every health issue is associated with the pandemic, and people need immediate treatment. Do all you can to support the healthcare workers in our community, and those who care for our elderly loved ones in assisted living facilities. They have a tough job at the best of times and are now facing some truly extraordinary challenges. It may surprise you how much a basket of treats sent in appreciation to a healthcare facility can do for morale!

Insurance Companies & You

The insurance companies are responding to the needs of their policyholders. If you have questions about your policies, what is covered, how to defer premium payments, or want to increase coverage or put a new policy in place, we are here to answer all your questions and concerns.
